images in web design

The images have a very important impact on design a web site. The somewhat overused phrase “a picture paints a thousand words” is often used in marketing to illustrate the need for good images to sell a product.
An image can convey lots of information as well as the emotion. Therefore a good web designer will know how to images to manipulate the audience to feel what he (she) wants.  A great website design can rise or fall on the quality of the images it contains, which is why it’s vital to get it right.
Here are some of the screen shots of web sites:

Designer and Artist David Cox

I think most people have to know about David Cox, the founder of Aevion.net, the place he posted and shared his graphic designs to everyone.
That is a beautiful mixture of photography with illustration in his pieces. Here are some of his examples:

HDR photos in opposite way !

We usually know about HDR photos as surreal and artistic as they got high contrast with bright and obvious halos. However, the photos I am going to show here will give you a different view of HDR photos. They look so real even HDR tone mapping  was used to enhance their details. Here are examples :

Half Dome

Neuschwanstein castle

Spray road

Stone arch Bridge

Here is the link of the HDR tone mapping tut I want to share with every one. The tut is very in detail so you can easily make it. Enjoy !

Angus and Julia Stone

I got to know about this band and their web site from my teacher.
I am inspired and attracted by the vintage style in this website that can tell everyone, even a new person like me, this band is quite classic.
The vintage style goes from the pattern of background to the picture frames as well as the text ' Angus and Julia Stone'.
Go further into the other pages of the site, you would be impressed as it is like a room with furnitures and stuff in it. Stuff are clickable and they take you to another stage like News, Bio, Gallery etc.
Another interesting thing is the sound. The sound of cows is quite funny but gives you a sense like you are entering a noble farming family ! :)
This is gallery page of the site

Kim Huyn Joong's photos

I love this Korean guy and his photo series about wedding. The colours are fresh with soft light that easily attracts viewers.

power of photoshop 2

This would be an interesting part for girls who like taking their photos and post up their private pages or social network like Facebook, twitter or even this blog.
Photoshop has made some people incredibly different from their actual. Being younger, having a very smooth skin without any scars, are the simple things to achieve. You can even make up with Photoshop ! Thats simple and photoshop has helped out lots of people to be confident !
This is an example of using photoshop to remove freckles

reflection in photography

We have assessed the Black and White photography in previous posts. Now this is time for Colour photography. Whatever colours containing in photos, they all bring the emotion, feeling and love of the artist.
The point of this post today is about Reflection in photography.
Inspire yourself to use reflections creatively with these examples. Reflections can be used to give a unique perspective and engage your viewer to your photo. Have a look at this set of photos and find out how you can use reflections in your photos

manipulation and photomontage.

Thanks to Photoshop, the world of imaging becomes various and colourful. Nowadays when we look at an image, we shouldnt ensure that is an single image. The tools plus the skills of the designers have magically blown an impossible world into images.
The first image looks like an amazing realistic photo landscape. It is not ! That is actually a combination of irrelevant photos.
The second one is a photo montagethat you would never imagine those stuff could be placed together. This image doesnt give a realistic sense however it is quite creative and impressive.

legend of guardians

One of the most 3D animation I love is Legend Of Guardians. It credibly inspired me for very first minutes of the movie for its design. The scenes come with gorgeous colours have made up a very fantasy world, especially the castle in sunset.
I love the scene when the owls flying with the water drop !

powerful camera !

My blog description : 'Just bring the camera and you got the whole world in your hands'.
It is definitely true ! Thanks to the cameras that people like me who rarely have chances to travel could open my eyes and explore the world.
Different moments even can be taken!

Things  changed when the light changed !

pon and zi

you CANT miss out  these guys !
They were created by Azuzephre who is doing creative art at Maidstone University.
The emo style in his artwork has rapidly become popular in the teenage world.
They all just contain with faded, dark and old look trend. Colours and the his drawings are quite simple, non-complicated . That style has become a point in this artwork to attract lots of people.
Also he used very lovely phrases that all the girls may fall down for.
They got the hand drawn style but were done in computer.

Stop motion- HP printer advertising

I watched this ad last year I really liked it. The ad is a stop motion of images printed from the printer continuously. It is like something realistic moving even you know they are just still images.
The stop motion is a time consumption job that is easy to make people frustrated and distracted. Spending 3 hours may only produce 10 seconds of footage, or in the case of Real 10, 12 months producing 7 minutes of footage!
They are made of thousands of still photographs.

Another stop motion I want to share with everyone is : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9Et7UQh1tg&feature=player_embedded
watch it and you'll see such a huge number of photos they used :)

5 tips to have black and white photos !

I'm so in love with the stunning black and white photos.
They got very strong power that take me deeply into them. previous post I have posted 3  photos I was impressed of. Keep searching about this topic, I found an article about the tips to get black and white photos which might be useful for people !

1. Shoot in raw.
Some cameras dont give you that option to shoot in raw. however, you'll want to do in raw if its possible in your camera. Give Raw a go and you'll be surprised for the results in post production ! ;)

2.shoot in color.
if shootting in raw is not your option, shoot in color and do conversion later on your computer rather than doing that job on the camera as you have more control over the results when you have colour data work with in your conversion on your computer

3. Low ISO
Shoot with as lowest ISO as possible. The particular important reason is that the high ISO is the more noise (or grain) it generates.

4. When to shoot
While people only shoot in colour sitting at home and complain about thr 'poor light', it is good time for shooting black and white photos since may digital cameras prefer to shoot BnW images in low contrast situation. Dark and gloomy days should be your time to get some BnW shots

5.Composition
you need to train yourself to look at shapes, tones and textures in your frame as points of interest. Pay particularly attention to shadows and highlights which will become a feature of your shot.

power of black and white photography

black and white photos, as the name, dont contain any colours. However, they seem to be stronger and more powerful in convey the emotion.
Some of my favorite blach and white photos :

Michele Clement
Artistic and powerful shot. This photographer was the winner of Black & White Spider Awards 2007 in category “Outstanding Achievement”.

Toni Frissell
Her photos got a strong trend toward realism or surrealism.

Alin Ciortea
His artworks are the examples of modern street photography.

How many version of 1 you can do ?!

Photoshop has a very powerful impact on designing. In other words, with photoshop we can create different versions of 1 thing that people cant recognize they are all from 1 object or person.
Specifically I want to mention about the tool named "Liquify" that helps you to change the shape of 1 object .

Also using patterns can help to make impression and create style for your own photo.

Lord of The Rings

This is why I'm so in love with " Lord of the Rings". The houses were designed amazingly, beyond the imagination of a normal architecture. That fantasy world takes me into for every step of Frodo. I love Frodo's front door, with the knob at the middle. More than that, I was like entering a fairy tale when the characters take me to Lothlorien where the Elves live. This is kind of tree home and deep into forest.
Most of the imagery in the film based on the various illustration of Alan Lee and John Howe then will be converted into architecture by Grant Major.
These are the photos of that fantasy world I am wishing join in:
